Club and facility rules

Participants must follow Connaught, Skate Canada, BC/YT Section and arena rules. A parent or guardian is responsible for children at the arena.

Registration and payment

CanSkate accepts public registration through Uplifter. Invited skaters receive registration instructions from the club. Fees are non-transferable and include a non-refundable annual Skate Canada membership fee.

Respect and conduct

Skaters, parents, coaches and volunteers are expected to follow Skate Canada ethics and club codes of conduct on and off the ice.

The essentials

Read these before completing registration

CanSkate families may register directly. Families entering any other program must first receive an invitation, then follow the registration instructions provided by the club.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

No refunds are normally available after the first day of skating. Approved session switches may be requested through the end of week two. Later additions may be prorated beginning in week three.

Medical requests must be made in writing with supporting medical documentation and are considered under the program-specific policy. Administration fees may apply.

Equipment and helmets

Rental skates and helmets are not available during club sessions. CanSkate participants who have not completed Stage 5, or who lack strong balance and control, must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet.

Missed sessions and ice cancellations

Missed sessions cannot be exchanged for another session. If facility or mechanical issues cancel ice, the club will make reasonable efforts to offer replacement programming when possible.

Privacy and publicity

Personal information is used to administer programs and respond to inquiries. The registration process includes the club’s current privacy terms and publicity consent, including how skating photos or video may be used to promote the club.

Competitive sessions and buy-ons

Competitive fees cover the items identified in the registration listing. Private coaching is arranged and billed separately. Buy-ons require current Skate Canada membership, coach approval, available space and advance purchase through Uplifter.
